Business Need

The Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) initiative sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and governed by the MITA Governance Board is intended to foster integrated business and information technology (IT) transformation across the Medicaid enterprise to improve the administration of the Medicaid program.

The MITA Initiative is a national framework to support improved systems development and health care management for the Medicaid enterprise. MITA has a number of goals, including development of seamless and integrated systems that communicate effectively through interoperability and common standards and processes.

Our Offerings

TurningPoint has developed a standards-based data hub that is used to synchronize data across various modules of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) into an Operational Data Store (ODS). The ODS contains standardized reference data management across modules, and provides data access via batch, real-time and near-real-time services. The ODS is a part of the central integrating system providing data, and services integration for MMIS modules in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) model using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). The data hub is built on a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges (MARS-E) compliant cloud infrastructure providing secure access to the data and system integration services.

TurningPoint’s Data Hub also provides enterprise data cleansing, data visualization, and data sharing services for business reporting and data warehouse systems. The Data Hub also incorporates a common portal that can be used to visualize the data in ODS, run reports to get business insight into the data, and also invoke services available on integrating modules.

TurningPoint’s data analytics has helped the customers to identify business-critical anomalies in the legacy data, helping them save costs and fix the data at source for effective processing of Medicaid claims.

TurningPoint’s Data Hub is compliant with the industry best practices and standards including:
