Company Adds over 40 Years of Telecommunications Management, Networx Transition Expertise

Rockville, MD – April 12, 2010 – Turning Point Global Solutions, a software engineering and Information Technology (IT) professional services firm, today announced that it has appointed Ken Thompson as Director, Networx Transition Services. In this position, Thompson is responsible for administering all FTS2001 to Networx Universal transition activities for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), including development of the overall transition strategy, inventory validation, and site survey processes.

Prior to joining TurningPoint, Thompson spent 18 years in various telecommunications, operations, and program management roles within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Most recently, he led the $1.5 billion lifecycle telecommunications infrastructure and services transition from the General Services Administration’s (GSA) FTS2001 contract to the GSA Networx Universal and Enterprise vehicles.

While serving as the Director of the VA’s Networks and Infrastructure Management Service, he was responsible for overall program lifecycle management and administration of the $45 million telecommunications and network security operations, involving 115 contractor and government employees nationwide. His oversight also included network engineering and design of the Telecommunications Modernization Project and Telecommunications Operations Support System, as well as automated ordering, billing, and invoicing process development.
