Rockville, MD – June 7, 2011 – Turning Point Global Solutions, a software engineering and Information Technology (IT) professional services firm, today announced that it has been selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide technology upgrades and maintenance support for two database applications currently used by CMS in its work to combat Medicare fraud, waste and abuse. Specifically, these applications are known as the CMS Complaints Database (commonly known as the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Hotline Database) and the Incentive Reward Program (IRP) Database. The CMS OIG Hotline Database is a repository of Medicare fraud allegations lodged by the public and investigated by both CMS Program Integrity Contractors and Law Enforcement. The IRP Database Application tracks incentive reward payments for eligible citizens who report potential fraud allegations that ultimately result in Law Enforcement referral and overpayment recoveries.

TurningPoint is upgrading both applications to Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft.Net-based Web Applications per the CMS Technical Reference Architecture requirements and guidelines. TurningPoint is also tasked with obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) for the upgraded and updated OIG Hotline Database application through an updated Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process.
