USO-Metro’s Turkeys for Troops program provides junior-enlisted service members and their families living in the Washington-Baltimore region with food baskets filled with traditional food items for a Thanksgiving feast.
“Giving back to our servicemen, servicewomen, and community is a TurningPoint value,” said David Hughes, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at TurningPoint. “And we are pleased to have this opportunity to show our gratitude by helping active military members enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with their families.”
In addition to providing corporate financial support, TurningPoint employees served as volunteers to stuff and distribute the holiday food baskets to military families at Fort Meade. Several TurningPoint employees also answered phones at the “Turkey for Troops” telethon, which raised nearly $112,000 for the program.
“We’re so grateful to TurningPoint for not only their financial support but the volunteer work of their dedicated employees during our Turkeys for Troops program,” says Elaine Rogers, President and CEO of USO-Metro. “This holiday initiative is a program where we absolutely know we’re making a difference in the lives in our local military communityand we simply couldn’t do it without the amazing support of companies like TurningPoint.”
