An SEI-approved independent appraiser conducted the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI)-A Level 3, following Staged Representation, from May 27-June 4 2009.
This appraisal means that TurningPoint successfully demonstrated a standardized approach to 18 distinct system development process areas, and applies these processes across all development projects. Whereas CMMI Level 2 defines 7 process areas, CMMI Maturity Level 3 defines an additional 11 process areas and therefore provides a greater degree of rigor and consistency in process execution. In addition to their CMMI Maturity Level 3 assessment, TurningPoint promotes organizational improvement through such initiatives as successful completion of an audit by the Defense Contract Auditing Agency (DCAA) and using Earned Value Management (EVM) methods.
