TURNINGPOINT TO PROVIDE FRAUD PREVENTION ASSISTANCE TO CMS

Rockville, MD – December 31, 2011 – TurningPoint Global Solutions, a software engineering and information technology enabled services (ITES) professional services firm, today announced that it has been selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to perform as the Compromised Number Checklist  (CNC) Contractor Application system to enable the Agency in combating fraud and abuse within the Medicare reimbursement system.  To prevent the payment of fraudulent claims, TurningPoint will upgrade and maintain a database repository of compromised Medicare numbers. The database will allow designated Medicare contractors to access these numbers so that they can check them against those in claims processing systems prior to invalid payments being made.

“This database repository will empower CMS to protect taxpayer assets,” said David Hughes, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at TurningPoint, “by enabling them to reduce incorrect payments made to illegitimate providers.”

TurningPoint will cleanse and enhance the data in the existing database, perform database enhancements and maintenance, and analyze the data to develop new and innovative strategies for mitigating fraud.
